SEDR recently hosted an impactful event dedicated to enhancing equality, diversity, and inclusion in our work. We are excited to share with you the highlights from this insightful round-table discussion.
As part of our commitment to improving alternative dispute resolution services for both individual and community-level grievances, we focused on the needs and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. This closed session provided a safe space for open dialogue and meaningful exchanges.
The objectives of the round-table discussion were:
Sharing information about SEDR's work and our support for Sri Lanka's National Mediation Programme.
Understanding existing or potential barriers faced by the LGBTQIA+ community in accessing and benefitting from mediation services.
Discussing how gaps in alternative dispute resolution services can be addressed.
Considering SEDR’s potential role in addressing those gaps.
We had the privilege of engaging with diverse voices, including community members, experts, and advocates. The discussions were thought-provoking, generating valuable insights and ideas for advancing inclusivity and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
SEDR is committed to leveraging our expertise and resources to create a more inclusive society. By working together, we can bridge gaps, address barriers, and ensure that everyone has equitable access to alternative dispute resolution services.
Stay tuned for updates on our continued efforts to support and uplift marginalised communities, as we strive for a more inclusive and just society.
